The medieval city of Fribourg is charming and yet not very big, which means that even if you go for accommodation in one of the neighbouring towns such as Granges-Paccot or Givisiez, you’ll still feel like you’re in Fribourg. Public transportation is fast and efficient, and it most probably will even live up to Swiss punctuality stereotypes!

We have decided to centralise all registration/administrative matters on the same platform, including accommodation options, to make it easier for participants. Therefore, you will be able to book accommodation directly on our registration platform[url] as you register for the conference. Please note that together with our partner we have negotiated rates that match the cheapest option found on alternative websites (under the same conditions).

Standard accommodation

In order to offer accommodation for high and mid budgets, we have booked rooms in the following hotels (see descriptions on the map below by clicking on the hotel name), from which you can choose as you register for the conference :

Low budget accommodation

We have additionally secured the availability of a number student rooms to be able to offer low budget options as well. These are either studios or rooms in shared flats that students of the University of Fribourg are renting during the conference dates. All student rooms available are located either in Fribourg, Marly or Givisiez (this is indicated next to each available room on the registration platform). These rooms are located either within walking distance of the conference venue or can be easily and quickly reached through the TPF bus network (lines 1, 3 and 7).

More details about this type of accommodation will be given upon booking and specific details that may vary according to the room allocated will be sent separately (e.g.: check-in/check-out time, access code to the building, etc.). Breakfast is not included. Again, these options are available through the registration platform[url], just like standard accommodation options.

Here are the conditions regarding the reservation of student rooms:

• Payment has to be done through the online registration platform. Once payment has been processed, participants receive contact details for the accommodation they have booked.
• Arrival and departure dates and times will be agreed upon by the participant and the student who is sub-letting their room/studio.
• A quick visit and inventory of fixtures will be done upon arrival and departure between the participant and the student.
