The European Conference on Argumentation (ECA) is a pan-European initiative launched in 2013 aiming to consolidate and advance various streaks of research into argumentation and reasoning. ECA\u2019s chief goal is to organise on a biannual basis a major conference that provides an opportunity for exchanging research results and networking in all areas related to the study of argumentation: philosophy, communication, linguistics, discourse analysis, computer science, psychology, cognitive studies, legal theory, etc.<\/p>\n
We are dedicated to work in synergy with other major events \u2013 such as the conferences organised by the International Society for the Study of Argumentation\u00a0(ILIAS)<\/a>, the Ontario Society for the Study of Argumentation\u00a0(OSSA)<\/a>, and the Argumentation Network of the Americas (ANA)<\/a>, as well as the conference on Computational Models of Argument (COMMA)<\/a> and the International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Law (ICAIL)<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 by sharing their interdisciplinary spirit and\u00a0trying to minimize schedule overlaps. As a distinguishing feature, ECA events offer a mix of plenary keynote sessions<\/strong>, thematic symposia<\/strong>, long papers with assigned commentators<\/strong>, and regular papers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n ECA is organised every other year at a different European location:\u00a0the conferences held so far include\u00a0ECA Lisbon 2015<\/a><\/strong>, ECA Fribourg 2017<\/strong><\/a>, ECA Groningen 2019<\/strong><\/a>, and ECA Rome 2022<\/strong><\/a>.
